A cornucopia of wonderful gifts

Back

This year our Christmas gift guide encompasses all that we love… property, art, jewellery, cars and lifestyle. Our gift guide is fun, but never frivolous, our suggestions will become treasured possessions and hopefully a valued part of your life.

1 Property

With the lack of family homes being built, Lawrie Park Place in Sydenham is the place to bring up your children, safe, secure with an abundance of leafy green trees and just 15 from London Bridge. Not to mention the many delicious coffee shops in nearby Sydenham and Crystal Palace.

2 A piece of jewellery with a brand name to be desired

Garrard’s have been around since 1735 and a piece of jewellery with the Garrard name is something you will be able to pass down to your children.

3 A painting from the Bond Street Gallery of Richard Green

We loved the style of their Exhibition ‘A Flair for Fashion’ and Augustus John’s Dark and Blonde Society Beauties – inseparable friends and fashion leaders, Baronne Baba d’Erlanger and Miss Paula Gellibrand, c.1919-21 – wear the boyish cut and bobbed hair of the Flapper Age. Could grace the walls of either a penthouse apartment or a country home.

4 A classic car worthy of Mr Bond’s approval

The Ferrari 250 GTO is one of the most beautiful cars ever built. Designed in the sixties, and with only 39 models to come out of the factory, they are priceless, rare and very desirable.

6 A coat from Geraldine Larkin

This will probably end up in the V&A in many years to come, just enjoy the fine craftsmanship of ‘The Garden Gate’, is an abstract take on a Chinese landscape. Trees, waterfalls and bridges are deftly realized in thousands of glass jet bugle beads hand-stitched across a backdrop of pale gold for a look that exudes Hollywood Regency. Another design features blowsy blooms spreading across an aqua-hued velvet which shimmers with stitching techniques specially developed by Larkin over years of working for clients such as Tom Ford or Louis Vuitton. Expect to pay around £5000 and available from Kokoro from this incredible fabric designer.

9 A modern classic

A member of Goldsmith’s company, we met Maya at the Goldsmiths Fair this year. Her sapphire collection, where she incorporates different depths of sapphires into her designs, are outstanding. This multi coloured sapphire star necklace in 18ct gold is part of her Worn Collection and is absolutely timeless.

11 The ultimate handbag

We knew we liked the sound of this brand when they launched their latest product with a sleepover. Their quirky products and creative style make Shrimps the brand to watch in 2018. This Christmas what we’d like most is one of their fabulous Antonia bags, in a classic box style and covered with … pearls, what is not to love about it.
