Damaged Goods – Oliver Shah
This book is essential reading for anyone connected to property and retail and gives the bigger picture to the larger than life story of Sir Phillip Green. The story surrounding the sale and collapse of BHS is fascinating. It is better as an audiobook read by Oliver Shah, full of emotion for efforts he went through to expose the real facts on this story of life at the top and bottom of British business.
Koh-I-Noor by William Dalrymple and Anita Anard
This is the history of one of the nastiest diamonds in history, the Koh-I-Noor or Mountain of Light.. Men who coveted and desired to possess this amazing and very large stone came died in horrible circumstances. Greed, murder the torture run through the book and it is certainly not a book at bedtime. The stone which was the single most valuable object on the subcontinent, given to Queen Victoria and reduced in size by Prince Albert is now locked up in the Tower of London.
